I listened to the discussion of the debates that premiered on ABC a fewweeks ago on National Public Radio. The same topics of what they were discussing on the radio were brought up in class today. Questions asked to Barack Obama focused little to none on his campaign for the democratic party. They held no relativity to his goals for the country, but in class we went into a deeper topic of the motives behind ABC's questionnaire. The real deal behind the debates is that they entail a big tale of show biz. These questions had no relativity to his campaign but the questions were specifically asked only to make television exciting. Electronic media had become the debate and the candadates were subject to the circus put on by ABC just to pull in more viewers. This concerns me because millions of american voters do watch the debates and the impression left on the voters is not too savory. Not only are viewers made subject to the circus, but they are drawn into it. They absorb this falsehood of media and get no true impression of the candidates and their personage.
