Kabuki theatre, shame in society is often followed through by suicide. it is looked at as a respectable decision, by permanently removing yourself from Japanese society for being the flaw in it. This is interesting to me because in our society because suicide is looked at as weakness, an excuse to hide from reality. In Kabuki many plays end with suicide unlike in America. This reflects the difference in the decadents of the era. Over indulgence in something with humans can become bad and this is what the plays in both societies of America and Japanese reflect.
