Since the coming year of 2000, there has been a surplus of superhero or comic-book based movies. These movies allow viewers to escape into the super-natural world of superpowers and invincibility. These themes presented defeat reality of today’s world. Theatre uses movies as a scapegoat for society as an aversion of reality. Coincidently, these films like Fantastic 4, Spiderman, Superman, Batman, The Hulk ( just to mention a few), all came about after incidents in American history like the presidential election of 2000 and 2004, 9/11, War in Iraq, and a general fall of the economy and its ripple effects in the home-buyers market and the stock market. These films were not released without purpose, producers create movies like these to pacify the society and avert there eyes to see a super world instead of the real problems in the world. Enticing enough are these films that several sequels have been released after almost each of them. This tactic numbs viewers to reality, and lures them to another.
